President’s Report December 2020

Dec 8, 2020

Happy Holidays Members of MAHU!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and are staying sane through fourth quarter. With everything going on, I am really looking forward to spending time with my family and friends for Christmas and the Holidays!

Your membership dues are being put to great use as our MAHU and NAHU lobbyists are busy being a strong voice for you and your clients in the Lansing and in Washington, DC, but we need your help. Please remember that every member of our association is on the Membership committee. We need you to ask one of your non-member peers to join our association. Our State Membership Recruiting and Retention Chairs are starting a contest with their own money and the State board decided to match their offer. I am very lucky to have two very passionate and caring people serve in leadership roles on my MAHU board. Val Cramer and Charlie Schlosser have taken their support for this association to a new level and I am hoping we all can help them out by recruiting a new member or asking a current member to renewal. If you do, you will have a great shot at winning some of their money!

Are we ever going to get back to normal? What a crazy election: court cases, alleged mail-in ballots fraud, alleged computer voting systems fraud, poll watchers denied access to view ballot counting and I see dead people (voting)! This year’s election was about as memorable as I have ever seen in my lifetime and hopefully will never see anything like this again. We need to have a better system in place so every legal voter in America can feel comfortable knowing the person that won, actually won. Please remember, the most important thing we can do as Americans is vote. It’s a truly scary time in American politics when there is even a question whether we can trust the election results of the President of the United States. It doesn’t matter who won or lost, it should alarm every American that elections can possibly be defrauded. Whatever your political lean, we must stay active and involved to make a difference.

We will be announcing some great events for 2021, so please look for those in your in-box soon!

Once again, Happy Holidays and thank you for allowing me to serve as the MAHU President!
