Governor Whitmer signs letter asking for federal health exchange SEP

Governor Whitmer was one of 12 governors to sign a letter asking President Trump to reverse an early decision and allow for a Special Enrollment Period for the federal health exchange due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Natural disasters such as hurricanes have prompted the federal government to allow for an SEP due to dramatic economic upheaval and job loss. Previously in March, Governor Whitmer and DIFS Director Anita Fox had asked the Trump administration for an SEP for those who are uninsured or underinsured.  Click here to review the letter.
